Privacy Policy

The Oculus Institute (“Oculus”) has the utmost respect for your privacy while using our website at www.oculusinstitute.com, and related websites (“Oculus Site”). As such, we want you to understand what types of information we are collecting and what may happen to that information. This Privacy Policy is an addendum to and subject to the Oculus Institute Terms and Conditions. Your use of the Oculus Site and any personal information you provide to Oculus are subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.
Laid out below are the types of information we collect and how we use it:
  • Optional Information – At various other points during your visit to the Oculus Site, you may be asked to provide information about yourself. For example, you may wish to receive emails from the Oculus Institute. The use of such services which require the input of additional information is completely voluntary on your part, and you have the choice about whether to disclose the information necessary to use these features of our site. For example, Oculus may use your contact information in order to periodically send you email regarding product offerings from Oculus or to alert you of events hosted by Oculus. The frequency of these messages will fluctuate depending upon various factors.
  • Passively Collected Information – In addition to the information which you actively provide to Oculus, Oculus collects passive information about how you interact with our site. The types of passive information collected by this site may include your IP address, which type of browser you are using, which pages you visit on our site, and how long you stay on any part of our site. Oculus collects passive information for purposes such as testing and improving a user’s experience at the Oculus Site, for the compilation of broad aggregate demographic data and related usage information for internal purposes, and for disclosure to third parties such as advertisers and content partners (to whom we would never disclose the more personal Optional Information, such as name and email address).
  • Cookies – When you visit the Oculus Site, we may send one or more cookies – a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters – to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. We use only “session” cookies; this means we store the cookie on your computer only during each visit to our web site. “Session” cookies are used by our software for load management and database access. NO personal information is contained in these cookies. After you turn off your computer or stop using the Internet, the cookie is erased and nothing will be remembered the next time you visit our web site. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of the Oculus Site may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.
Oculus will not knowingly sell, share, rent, or otherwise transfer your information other than in accordance with the terms set forth in this Privacy Policy. If and ONLY if you give your permission to allow third parties to contact you, personal information about you (such as your contact information) may be shared with product creators, data aggregators, marketers, and other organizations. Regardless of your decision regarding the sharing of your personal information, we may share broad aggregate demographic data and related usage information with our business partners. This aggregate information does not contain any personal information which can identify any individual user. As a rule, Oculus does not share any information that can be tied to you without your permission; two narrow exceptions to this are noted below:
1. From time to time, Oculus may decide that it is more efficient to use third parties (such as mailing list companies) to perform specific services, such as sending communications to our users. If we use a third party to provide specific services, then information (such as contact information) may be shared with that party to the extent, and only to the extent, that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These third party service providers are only allowed to use personally identifiable information for the purpose of providing the specific services requested by Oculus.
2.While Oculus strives to protect the personal information of our users, Oculus will release personal information if required by law.

You must be at least thirteen (13) years old in order to use the Oculus Site and enter personal information. If you are under 13 years of age, please do not send any information about yourself, including your name, address, email address, or any other information whatsoever. If we discover that we have unintentionally collected any personally identifying information from a child under the age of 13, we will remove that information from our database as soon as possible. Visitors to the Oculus Site between the ages of thirteen (13) and eighteen (18) must obtain permission from a parent or guardian before sending any personally identifying information. If we discover that we have collected any personally identifying information from a minor between the ages of thirteen (13) and eighteen (18) without consent of their parent(s)/guardian(s), we will remove that information from our database as soon as possible.
